Why use illustration over photography? Here's some good reasons: Create an environment or product that doesn't exist; Create a style consistent with your company's brand image; Show an operation or process with a diagram, map or cut-away view; Engage your customer's brain. Illustration is a "cool medium" (see Marshall McLuhan) which provides a more limited amount of information than photography, and engages the brain to complete the message. An engaged brain is what you want to receive your advertising message. |
